Acidic water with a pH of less than 6.5 is more likely to be contaminated with pollutants, making it unsafe to drink. Designed to raise the pH of acidic water. The system uses the Clack 1191 valve top. The 1191 valve is molded in a resistant thermoplastic resin that has a port of 1/4 FPT air ventilation that can be drilled out to accept a valve of air relief. Calcite media helps neutralize acidic water pH levels below 6.7 by increasing the ph. Upflow helps reduce waste water by not requiring back washing. Patented fiberglass-reinforced tank. Will not over correct under normal conditions. When the water comes into contact with the calcite, acidic water dissolves the calcium carbonate slowly to increase the pH which reduces the potential of copper of lead and other metals found energy systems plumbing. The bed of calcite, will have to be periodically replenished as the calcite is dissolved. Calcite can be effectively combined with flomag/corosex to allow a higher increase in pH for lower pH level water.</p>
